About me

My journey to sewing began through a class in my local village after I was dragged along by my mother . I instantly fell in love and continue to love the incredible idea of garment making. And of course fabric collecting. I continued to grow my skills and in 2023 took the brave step to apply for sewing bee, it was here I met my best friend Asmaa and grew my techniques and confidence.

About me

I was born in Iraq but have lived most of my adult life in South Wales. I fell in love with sewing at a very early age when I used to sit for hours watching my grandmother and mum creating garments from beautiful, floaty, and shiny fabrics. It was love at first sight!

In 2023, I was on Great British Sewing Bee with Fauve, and was fortunate enough to win the series ! You might remember my transforming dress, which I still get asked about.

Hobbies

I also love knitting, I can sit for hours knitting away at different projects.

My favourite fabric

Satin or anything with polka dots !

Sewing snacks

Tea and cake.
